The deadline for registering to vote in this election is 22nd May
The deadline for registering for a Postal Vote is 23rd May at 5pm
To find out whether or not you are registered to vote, you need to contact your Electoral Registration Officer. You can find their details by entering your postcode on the About My Vote website.
You can register to vote if you are:
- 16 years old or over (but you cannot vote until you are 18 years old)
- A British citizen
- An Irish, Commonwealth or European Union citizen who is resident in the UK
You can register online here - you'll need to know your National Insurance number.
Applying for postal vote
If you can't make it to the polling station, or would rather vote by post, you can apply for a postal vote. To do this, you need to fill in the application form (you can download a copy here) and send it to your local electoral registration office (if you're not sure which is your local office, you can check online). You need to be on the electoral register to be able to apply for a postal vote.
