Lucy Joins All Party Parliamentary Groups

Lucy_Powell_parl_default1.jpg.ashx.jpgManchester Central MP Lucy Powell has joined a number of All Party Parliamentary Groups since entering Parliament last November as the first woman Labour MP in Manchester.

All-Party Groups (APGs) are informal cross-party groups that bring Parliamentarians and interested groups together to investigate and explore issues.

The APPGs Lucy has joined include:

• Adoption and Fostering
• Child Protection
• Children
• Conception to Two Years
• Cycling
• Health
• High Speed Rail
• Housing and Planning
• Internet and Communications Technology
• Local Growth, Local Enterprise Partnerships and Enterprise Zones
• Looked After Children and Care Leavers
• Parents and Families
• Poverty
• Private Rented Sector
• Social Mobility
• Sure Start Children’s Centres
• West Coast Mainline

Lucy Powell said: “All Party Groups are great ways to register an interest in an issue and bring together Parliamentarians to investigate issues and learn from groups such as charities and industrial organisations. I have chosen to join groups that have a particular interest and impact on people in my constituency.”
