Lucy opens Webster Primary School's new play storage unit

erqgqer.pngOn Friday, Lucy opened Webster Primary School's new outdoor play storage unit and spoke to the teachers about how they've been improving learning through play.

Webster Primary School have been working with national organisation Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) to develop a new approach to improving children’s play at lunchtimes. The new approach includes more risk taking, more access to nature and access to a wider range of toys to play with.

Play is essential for children's development and Lucy was keen to see how the children were learning through creativity, exploration and interaction.

Lucy said:

It's great to be at Webster Primary today to open these great facilities and see how children here are having more opportunities to learn through play. Play is a great way for children to learn and develop and it is good to see the lead Webster Primary is taking to develop this approach.
