Lucy Powell MP launches her first Schools Christmas Card Competition

MWP_PR_070314_WC1-03411.jpg.ashx.jpgLucy has today launched her Schools Christmas Card Competition.

She has written to all of the primary schools in her constituency inviting them to take part and the competition is open to any primary school age child living in the constituency. The entries will receive a certificate for taking part and the winner and runners up will receive a prize. The winning design will be used as Lucy’s 2013 Christmas card and will be sent to hundreds of constituents, businesses, voluntary and community groups, faith groups, and schools.

Thomspons Solicitors have made the event possible by agreeing to sponsor the competition.

Lucy said;

“I would like to say a big thank you to Thompsons. I’m delighted that they are happy to sponsor the competition.

As this is my first full year as an MP, I thought it would be great to get children from the constituency involved.

I know that there will be lots of budding young artists out there and I’m sure that it will be tough to decide on the winning design.

I will be sending the card to lots of people from the constituency and across the country so I hope that I get lots of entries so I can show everyone what talented youngsters I have in my constituency.”

Philip Liptrot from Thompsons Solicitors’ Manchester office, said;

“We are pleased to be sponsoring Lucy Powell’s first Schools Christmas Card Competition and hope that lots of children will be eager to take part. This is a great opportunity for one lucky winner to have their design delivered to hundreds of people on Lucy’s Christmas card list.”

Entries should be sent to Lucy Powell MP, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA by November 13th
