Lucy Powell MP marks International Women’s Day at Brunswick Stay and Play

IMG_1825.JPG.ashx.jpgLucy hosted a special listening event to celebrate International Women's Day with a group of Manchester mums in Brunswick. She talked to them about their day to day lives, the challenges they face as women and how they can overcome them.

Speaking after the event, Lucy said:

“It is important to mark International Women’s Day but also to listen to What Women Want and what challenges women face in their daily lives.

"I was glad to get the chance to hear from the mums in Brunswick who told me about the problems they have from the cost of childcare, to the cost of everyday items and household bills. This will be fed right to the top level of politics with the results presented to the Leader of the Labour Party."

"The important thing is not just to listen to women today but to build a relationship that means women’s voices are heard throughout the Labour Party.”
