Lucy has written to the company who operated a private hospital in her constituency, asking for assurance that former employees will be treated fairly following its announcement that its staff had been made redundant. The Bridgewater Hospital in Hulme went into liquidation earlier this year and a takeover deal was confirmed this month, with former employees losing their jobs and suppliers and businesses losing thousands of pounds.
Lucy said:
This situation is concerning, particularly if staff have found themselves unemployed and businesses are not being paid what is owed to them.
I have written to the company who operate the hospital to ask them whether they intend to do the responsible thing and make sure that individuals and suppliers are paid properly.
