Lucy supports National Apprenticeship Week

group.jpgLucy Powell met with local employer sugden sports centre and ex-trainee apprentice James Irwin to congratulate James on his fantastic achievement.

James with the help of a government funded traineeship made the leap from unemployment to an aspiring fitness instructor. James is now empoloyed by Serco Leisure.

At the visit Lucy commented:

“It was great to get the chance to come and see James at the Sugden Centre and hear about how he got involved and the difference it has made to both him and the centre.”

“I’m really pleased that a sports centre in my constituency is offering this scheme and it is brilliant that this led to a contract at the end. I hope that his story encourages other young people to take a look at training schemes available.”
